Here's how:
I gathered my supplies. For this project I needed 1 plastic wreath from Hobby Lobby, 2 strands of red garland from Dollar Tree, old ornaments from my garage, and lots of hot glue.
(sorry for the blurry pic)
I took the red garland and I wrapped it around the wreath. I put a few dots of hot glue to start, and then put more on after every 10 wraps or so. It did pretty good staying in place without a ton of glue.
I just kept wrapping until it looked like this:

It takes a lot of glue. Seriously, I probably burned through at least 10 sticks., but the finished product made it all worth it.
I love it! It is hanging on my front door looking all pretty!
Darling!!! Thanks for linking up and sharing your wreath on Thrilling Thursday @ Paisley Passions :)
ReplyDelete10 sticks! Well, sure was worth it in my book. Look what you landed in exchange! Love how the light catches it. Very pretty!

I've been gathering my supplies to make one of these for the past few days. I'll have to check my glue stick stash. I love the way you did yours with a patriotic theme. I'm sure the sparkle really draws attention to your front door.
ReplyDeleteI have been collection vintage ornaments for a whole year now to make the wreath that was so popular last year. The one were you "string" the ornament on a close hanger. But I love the way some of your ornament tops show. Since my ornaments are all vintage I would love the tops to show. Thanks for the great inspiration, I will be working on my wreaths soon.

Sweet! I love it! Great idea wrapping with the sparkly stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and leaving a sweet note! I love the red/white/blue...so cool! I like how you wrapped the wreath with garland first..and glued the ornaments on...stringing them was challenging! I'm following you now and can't wait to see what else you come up with!!

Gorgeous x 3 and well done! I love the bright colors and the garland wrap really fills in any empty spots, good thinking. Gotta do this!
